Children’s outdoor workshop titled ‘Dekhi Banglar Mukh’ has been organized with the students of Bhumi Pathshala.

As part of the pure practice of developing children’s minds, an event titled ‘Dekhi Banglar Mukh’ has been organized with the students of Bhumi Pathshala on January 10, 2025. In this day-long event, after showing the children around the village,
an art camp will be held.

This event will be held with 25 students of Bhumi Pathshala in Paril village of Manikganj, near Dhaka.
In this event, the children will observe the true form of rural Bengal with their own eyes. They will be connected with various natural scenes such as the village on a winter morning, the smell of mustard fields, rural life, rivers, rice fields, bamboo gardens, ancient and huge banyan trees, etc.
We know that most of the children living in Dhaka have not had the opportunity to see the beautiful villages of Bengal, or do not, but in the field of drawing, asking children to draw or draw picturesque scenes of the village has become a natural thing. These children, who have not actually seen the village, are trying to depict the scenes of rural Bengal by imitating the pictures they see in books or on the internet, which cannot connect them with the pictures they have drawn. This is definitely an obstacle in the practice of creativity.
Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin used to say, “A real boat cannot be drawn without riding a boat and feeling the swaying of the waves.” Keeping his words in mind, we take the children of Bhumi Pathshala to nature in different seasons. We will continuously take them to various rich places in the country to connect them with nature and people, as well as introduce them to the innovative construction styles of all classes of working people in the country, including blacksmiths, potters, fishermen.
We think that it is more important to connect children with the content of the picture than to draw pictures. Our goal is to realize the true creativity of children through practicing the techniques of applying the endless topics that accumulate in the minds of children through connection with nature and people.
